The Man of Steel - Ready for Battle

A personal project of mine (not work related), an attempt to design a new look for one of my favorite superheroes.

I took design elements for this character from many different sources. His age and darker edge was inspired by the Kingdom Come comic, color scheme and materials from the Snyder film, and his facial features and hair inspired from the classic Christopher Reeve films. I then put those elements through a Street Fighter/Resident Evil/Anime influenced design for the proportions and posing.

The polycount was kept around 100k triangles along with 16 x 4096k textures (Diffuse, Spec, and Normal maps for Body, Head, Hair, and Cape). Though its a personal project and not for any specific game or project, I kept the figure within limits for current high end game consoles or PCs.

Tools I used:
-- XSI for all modeling
-- Max for rigging and posing
-- PS for texturing
-- Zbrush for normal map detailing and sections
-- XNormal for normal map bakes

Rendered in Keyshot with light touch-up in Photoshop (color, contrast, tints, bloom)
